I recently moved back to the Waikato, having lived in Tauranga for 16 years. I am enjoying the new surroundings and meeting new people. I own two businesses one in Human Resources and the other in Social Media. My experience in business started when I was 20 years old, where I ran a childcare centre with my sister. Since then I have managed and built a number of businesses. I love the challenge of building a business and seeing it flourish. I see that much of what I do now is about helping small to medium enterprises succeed in two of the many facets of business. I am passionate about building good relationships with others in the community as well. I am an active member in other networks such as Venus, the WE Network and the Chamber. Part of building relationships within the community, is my passion around accessible fresh fruit and vegetables for people. I started a crop swapping group here in Cambridge and it has already grown to almost 150 members in its short existance. We have regular meetings throughout the year at the Community Gardens and share whatever we have in abundance whether it is from your garden or pantry. I love that this openness means that I meet people on many levels. I have a partner in the police force and am a mum to an exuberant five year old boy who has just recently started at Cambridge East School.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER?
I think for me, success for the chamber is in people finding value in what the chamber offer. Whether this is advice, training or events for getting to know other like minded people.
THE SKILLS & QUALITIES I WILL BRING TO ACHIEVE THAT SUCCESS
I have a background in psychology, human resources and social media, along with business knowledge and an engaging personality :) I can build great relationships with businesses and people which I think is essential to getting businesses engaged with the Chamber of Commerce.
