I have run Rouge Cafe with my wife Alana for the last 8 years and believe Cambridge is a great place to live, work, and do business. I am passionate about Cambridge, and I think the business community has a leadership role to play in ensuring our town remains the vibrant place it is today.
I was the Waipa Emerging Business Leader in 2015 and have been actively involved with the Chamber as an executive committee member of three years, including VP and then President for the current year.
In particular, I've enjoyed contributing to the 1st XV young networking group, Love Cambridge, and the Young Enterprise Scheme.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FOR CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER?
Success for the Chamber would mean a thriving business community supporting our growing town.
Success would be enabling and supporting a business environment that includes a strong foundation of existing business, ample new opportunities and room for growth.
To achieve this, Chamber needs strong governance, clear strategic direction and well-resourced operations. My drive as President is to ensure these things are in place so that our team can continue moving us toward this vision of success.
THE SKILLS & QUALITIES I WILL BRING TO ACHIEVE THAT SUCCESS
I have a broad base of management experience from operating a small business for the past 8 years. I have a good financial understanding, and particular strengths in management and business systems, marketing and strategy.
I am a detail and process-oriented person. As President, my role is to create the framework for good decision making and effective planning.
I am passionate about Chamber and about Cambridge. I will continue to bring this passion to my role as President.
