Cambridge Chamber of Commerce welcomes new membersCambridge Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a warm welcome to the new members who have joined since late last year. Executive Officer, Raewyn Jones, said the ones gathered here are a representative sample of the many businesses that have joined since late last year. “It is great to see so many businesses recognising the benefits that being a Chamber member can offer. The networking opportunities Chamber provides, such as our Business after Five and Networking over Coffee events, are becoming increasingly popular as people recognise the huge value in relationship marketing and word of mouth.” “Businesses are also investing in their staff and themselves through the increasing range of education and training opportunities we promote. It has been a very positive start to 2011.” Raewyn said. Examples of new member businesses include the Drive Doctor, Dr Jack Treffner, who offers attentive driving workshops, sharing scientific research to help increase driver skills and driver stability. Anytime Fitness is another, they pride themselves on providing convenient affordable fitness options and they are open 24 hours, 365 days a year. McLeod Consulting Limited like to work with businesses hands on, they manage projects of all shapes and sizes and can provide simple, plain english solutions to most of your day to day business problems. Not for profit organizations are also well represented within our new Chamber members. Jenny Wilson and Steve Schoultz, pictured below, represent Sustainable Cambridge, and Karen Mahaffie represents Workbridge. Workbridge provides a professional employment service for people with all types of disabilities, injury or illness, where the effects are likely to last for more than 6 months. Mike Williamson is from ANZ National Private Banking. Mike is a private banker covering the Cambridge region who looks after the banking needs of high net worth clients. Cor Speksnijder has set up his business, Employment Remedies Limited, to provide general and specialist Employment Law advice and services to both employers and employees. He prides himself on his common sense approach, with his services covering the full spectrum of employment problems. Andy Marsden from All Sew Embroidery prides himself on his firm’s quality service, competitive prices and fast turnaround, which is all made possible by having a skilled embroidery designer on site. “Why wait weeks for a garment from Hamilton, when you can have it designed and made faster, and at a better price, right here in Cambridge?” he asks. Donna from Moonlighting Marketing Services says her firm, as the name suggests, offers consultancy and project management services. “Many of our clients come to us because they are frustrated not knowing what sales or marketing opportunity to undertake first. What they should expect, and how much it will cost.” Donna said. Judi Smythe from JAS consultancy, another new Chamber Business, also emphasizes the value of word of mouth advertising in a small community. “Having been involved in the business community for 20 plus years, I very much enjoy helping businesses find their way in our busy, thriving little town –networking being the number one resource, hence the reason I believe so strongly in the Chamber of Commerce.” Judi said.
