Waipa Networks Business Awards Cambridge “Employee of the Year".For the first time this year an “Employee of the Year” category was added to the Waipa Networks Business Awards. The 2011 Employee of the Year was Ian Harris from The Red Cherry Cafe. Certificates of Commendation went to Eileen New of the Vault Financial Group, and Denise Yelavich of The Lime Group. Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President, LesleyAnn Thomas says the award is an ideal way to focus on the great things that happen every day in business and share the recognition with the whole community. ‘We know that employers value their people and want to recognise the excellence whether it is in customer service, innovation, or skill. It is hard being an employer, and often we are making tough decisions every day. This is a way for employers to show their people they value them and to celebrate their contribution.’ LesleyAnn says. The winner was announced at the Waipa Networks Business Awards dinner on Friday the 8th of July, 2011, and was awarded a certificate as well as a $100 restaurant voucher from Onyx cafe.
