Benefits of being a Chamber Member

The Chamber of Commerce is an international non-profit Incorporated Society. Its primary role is to represent and support small and medium enterprise (SME’s). The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is actively involved in local planning and submissions. We provide our members with information, networking and training opportunities aimed at having a healthy business community.\

AS A MEMBER YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS WILL:

  • Be profiled (including a photo and/or your logo) for free in one edition of our quarterly newsletter.
  • Have access to our database via the Chamber office. Contact our office to discuss your ideas.
  • Receive a free wall planner PLUS you can advertise your business on it. This planner is given to all our members.
  • Receive a B-Vital card which entitle you to discounts from various companies throughout the region. Members can also apply for a SHELL Card for further discounts on petrol.

INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Hear informative guest speakers at our Business Breakfast meetings. With a breakfast meeting each quarter, network over breakfast and learn something new!
  • Attend events at other Northern Hub Chambers, such as workshops and seminars, at the same cost as one of that Chamber's members. We work very closely in this area with Auckland, Waikato, Rotorua and Tauranga Chambers. We will advise you what is available through our email service.
  • Have your training opportunities and seminars promoted locally by the Chamber.
  • Access our ‘Brainstorming Sessions’. Whether you are a new or an existing business we are happy to give you ideas that will get you ‘noticed’ in Cambridge. Through our local knowledge and contacts we offer simple, effective ways to let the community know about your business.

SPONSORSHIP:

We provide businesses extra profiling opportunities in the way of sponsorship. Businesses can be involved in specific events or become sponsors of the Chamber.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • NETWORK OVER COFFEE (NoC) once a month. Hosted by local Chamber members these NoC’s provide the opportunity to find out first hand about the host business while enjoying morning tea, and meeting other people in business.
  • Join us after work. BUSINESS AFTER FIVE (ba5), also held once a month, is an excellent way to meet up with members over drinks and nibbles. Members host these events at 5:30pm at their business premises – a great way to network and learn about businesses in Cambridge. If you would like to host a ba5 or NoC contact the Chamber office.
  • WAIPA NETWORKS BUSINESS AWARDS
  • AGM with speaker
  • LONG LUNCH – a feel good occasion with like minded people
  • CHAMBER CHRISTMAS PARTY CELEBRATION

MARKETING:

  • Advertise or insert a flyer in the quarterly CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER NEWS, an excellent way to promote your business to Chamber members and the community. All at a nominal price.
  • CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER of COMMERCE WEBSITE – use this as a marketing tool. As a member you have access to our other members. Advertising and links can be discussed.
  • Find employees. We advertise vacant situations to our members – they often know someone who may be suitable. Someone looking for employment may also use this service – our emails go out to more than 200 businesses.

ADVOCACY:

  • The Chamber is actively involved in helping to enhance the local business environment through advocacy and submissions to local government. This includes annual submissions to the Waipa Annual Plan and District Plan review.
  • The Chamber is also active in considering how Cambridge will deal with growth in population, in ways that don't compromise its 'town' character.
  • With its members, and their perspectives, capabilities and interests, the Chamber works alongside others in the community toward improving lifestyle and business vitality in Cambridge.
